This seminar is designed to provide students who are currently working in the medical field with the additional skills to perform medical recording, statistical tracking, billing, and reimbursement using medical diagnostic coding.

Students will learn medical terminology and medical abbreviations, basis human anatomy and physiology, international coding systems, proper codes for medical reimbursements, and word processing and spreadsheet skills that can be applied to medical offices.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to work as a medical coder or biller in a health care facility.

The approximate amount of time to complete the Medical Billing & Coding seminar is 8 weeks for day school and 20 weeks for night school.

CODING CERTIFICATIONS
Students in the Medical Billing and Coding course and in the Medical Office Assisting Program may take the Insurance and Coding certification offered by the National Center for Competency Testing in order to receive a certificate of completion. The exam is offered monthly at PCCenter.

The Office Technology seminars prepare candidates for work in any business office by providing training for certifications in the Microsoft Office Suite as well as courses in document production and web design. Students will learn how to create a portfolio demonstrating their abilities to complete complex documents in each software application. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to work as administrative assistants in business offices.

The approximate amount of time to complete the Office Technology Seminar is 10 weeks for day school.
